The FICHL Spring Hockey League offers squirt, middle school, HS junior varsity and varsity level HS boy and girl hockey players the chance to play year round in various leagues throughout the spring and summer.

FIC Spring Select League Rules
Game Format:
Two 19 minute stop time periods will be used for all High School games of one hour duration. Youth games will be one hour in duration utlilizing three 12 minute stop time periods.
Games will end in a Tie at the end of regulation, if tied.
Playing Rules: The USA Hockey '06-07 rules will be used for youth divisions. High School division will utilize existing regular season federation rules, with the following exceptions and changes:
Fighting (Fisticuffs): Major plus SEASON suspension (on ice official discretion)
Game Misconduct: Removal from the remainder of the current game
Game Disqualification: Removal from the remainder of the current game plus a additional game suspensions at the league discretion.
Penalty Limit: A player is allowed only 2 penalties per game. Committing a third penalty will result in removal from the remainder of the current game, with all remaining penalty time to be served by a teammate. Excessive penalty limit abuse will result in league suspension at the discretion of the league director.
Major penalties count as two penalties towards a player’s limit.
All penalties are to be recorded and count against a player’s limit, regardless of a goal being scored during a delay penalty.
Player Eligibility: Players must meet the following guidelines to be eligible to play in the Select League
Age: Must be of appropriate age to meet USA Hockey guidelines for their age classification.
Team Payment: All teams must be paid in full prior to the start of the first game or have made prior arraignments with the Family Ice Center.
Suspended Players: will NOT receive, nor will they be entitled to any form of credit and/or reimbursement for games missed. | | |
