The Family Ice Center (FIC) and the Falmouth Ice Hockey Association (FIHA) have partnered together to build a new locker room that will be the exclusive home of Falmouth girls hockey teams during the school hockey season and additional capacity for FIC to use during the rest of the year.
When the Family Ice Center was built in 1998, there was no need for a girls’ hockey locker room because there was no Falmouth team. Now, girls hockey has grown significantly in Falmouth, which now has robust Varsity, JV and Middle School girls’ programs.
If the girls’ hockey program was existed when the building was constructed, there would have been space in the original design. This project acknowledges the great progress we have made in the world of female sports.
